I’m not sure where the time has gone as Cecily is now 6 weeks but I want to share our newborn session with you before she gets any bigger!
We are all doing really well, a little tired! (I know how our clients feel now) Harriet is loving being a big sister and uses her new title at any opportunity!
Liana and Andie came to the house when Cecily was just 10 days old as I wanted to try a lifestyle newborn session instead of our studio newborn sessions, plus after my c section I felt much more comfortable at home. As beautiful as our studio pictures are, I loved the fact it was taken in our own family surroundings, the place that has become Cecily’s first home.
When thinking about booking your own newborn session it is worth thinking about whether you prefer the more arty gorgeous posed shots we can do in our Studio Newborn Sessions or a new option we are adding which is the more relaxed style of our at home Lifestyle Newborn Sessions.
Here is my inside info on the main differences:
Studio Newborn Sessions
Recommended under two weeks old as posing is key to gets those sleepy, curled up newborn shots that you love. They can also sleep through anything in those first two weeks (Very short lived believe me!)
Set in our lovely studio in Cobham were we have a professional set up stocked with newborn props, hats and back drops. We also use professional lighting to make you look your best.
The studio is set at a temperature controlled warm environment so the newborns do not get cold when we pose them naked. It can get pretty hot for adults though especially new Mums so remember to bring layers you can take off.
You can sit back and relax in our space as we have everything we need. Lots of cups of tea provided too!
Lifestyle Newborn Sessions
Not so essential that it is done in the first two weeks as it is more about the new baby and his or her new home and family.
Also helpful if you find travelling with a newborn daunting. Lifestyle newborn sessions are conducted in the comfort of your own home adding a personal touch to your images that might be missing from your studio session.
The session is less posed as it is more about capturing those precious newborn moments.
Whatever you decide we are happy to accommodate.
