This is max’s second Watch Me Grow photo session. We photographed him as a newborn, at 7 months and the third session will be when he is running around! It is all happening way too quickly!!! His mum is a detective (thought I had to throw that in, never met a detective before, very exciting…)

So here it is, a sneak preview of Max’s newborn session followed by Watch Me Grow2.

It was such a pleasure to have Rachel in the studio last week with her husband and daughter Lexie. Becky and I were so lucky to be the photographers for their wedding a couple of years ago. Here they are, on a beautiful summer’s day…;)

Now they have little Lexie in their life. Here is a small preview from their photography session in our studio in Cobham. Did I mention that we are so happy to do this job??? So happy to see little Harry all grown up in our studio in Cobham with his new baby brother, Flynn. We took Harry’s newborn pictures about 2 years ago and we  feel so happy when our clients come back to us when their families are growing. It is such an important part of their lives to record and we really feel grateful to be party of this.

If you would like for us to photograph your family in our studio in Cobham or at your home, don’t hesitate to get in contact with us!

Katie is getting quite emotional about her eldest daughter, Bella, starting school next week.  She wanted to get some good ideas for a fun “first day of school” photograph that she will remember forever.  We had a look on pinterest and found some lovely ideas and thought we would share them with you here along with a few tips to help.

If your child has already started school this week don’t panic!  It’s not too late to capture them looking cute in their first uniform.  Katie took this picture of Bella a week before she actually started as she knew that first morning would be a rushed panic and she wouldn’t get a relaxed picture.

bellaIf you like the black board idea above, get them to help you with it and if they can write, ask them to write their own name as Bella has done here. Don’t ask them to smile.  This picture of Bella was taken as Katie asked her what the funniest thing she had done that week had been.  Get them talking and keep snapping and you will get some lovely natrual pictures.  Their body language will also relax so their poses will be more natural. first day2We liked the idea of noting what date they started and what they want to be when they grow up so you could continue the tradition each year and see how their ambitions change and evolve.double pictureChoose a time when your child is happy and relaxed, and when you are not feeling rushed.  We love this idea of getting your child to hold the picture of them from the previous year.  It shows how much they have grown and changed!

They won’t be holding your hand for much longer, so this picture of a mother walking her son to school made our hearts melt.

This one is a bit more staged, but we thought the use of apples and vintage books was fun.  See what you can come up with.

And remember….

Good luck to everyone who starts school this year and to their parents!  We know it will be a proud and emotional day!

The arrival of your new baby is a joyful event and you will want to tell the world. In this age of digital media, a simple birth announcement card doesn’t seem enough.  That’s why we are so excited to show you our beautiful new birth announcement videos.  They are a totally unique way of introducing your baby to your friends and loved ones, and are sure to bring a tear to every eye.  You can email them, put them on facebook and treasure them for a lifetime.

If you book a newborn shoot before the end of 2014 we will include one free.

Details of our newborn photo shoots are below. Please note that ideally babies need to be photographed before they are 10 days old, so it is best to book a newborn shoot a couple of months before your due date.

Newborn Package

We love to photograph newborns as it gives us the opportunity to document such a fleeting moment at the start of a tiny person’s new life. We understand how precious they are being Mothers ourselves and we have been expertly trained in newborn photography to understand exactly how to pose them so they are comfortable. All you need to do is sit and relax.

Studio Session £185

Located in our rural studio in Cobham, we make the room warm, relaxed and comfortable for you. We have bottle warming and changing facilities and a comfy sofa for you to relax (or sleep!) on. We also have lots of beautiful blankets, knitted and headbands so you do not need to bring anything for your baby unles you have something special in mind.

What is included?

A personal consultation via phone or email

2-3 hour newborn portrait session including props and blankets

artistic editing & retouching of your images

Ordering session at our studio in Cobham

One 10″x8″ mounted photograph

We leave plenty of time for feeding and soothing. Newborn comfort and safety is of our upmost importance and we do not like to rush the poses.

How old do they need to be?

Newborn portraits are ideally captured within the first 4-10 days of life, when your baby sleeps for long periods of time and curls up naturally as if they are still in the womb. After 4 weeks we would class it as a baby photography session not a newborn session.

When do I need to book my newborn photography shoot?

Your babies due date is unpredictable so you can book as early as after your 20 weeks scan. We normally book newborn sessions 3 months in advance for 8-10 days after your due date. We will then make sure we have space allocated for when you baby arrives.

For all our packages please note there is a minimum spend of £400 including the session fee.
